It’s been no secret that nail art has been dying a slow death. For years people have been claiming the end is approaching for this trend- and, over the past few seasons, designers have been implicating a single (usually beige) hue as opposed to mini-paintings on the nails. But we beg to differ. Lately, we’ve seen nail designs so cool, we’re tempted to pick up our striping pens again. Backstage at the spring ’17 shows, point to intricate designs and 3D add-ons staying strong for months to come. Backstage we saw abstract shapes, layered ombré, color-blocking and to be completely honest, it had us feeling downright giddy. Designers such as Alice + Olivia, Rodarte, and Jasmine Chong had simple yet paid enough attention to detail to make an impression. Though SS17 debuts in the fall we’re not waiting until March rolls around to start test-driving these looks, and neither should you.
