It’s June and the first official day of summer is approaching fast! Each year the Environmental Working Group (EWG) issues a report on sunscreen and then rates and reviews the safest/cleanest ones. This year they had a staggering 264 sunscreens that fit under the sport/beach category, 27 that are baby/kid safe, and 130 moisturizers with spf in them. I think it’s safe to say, that’s a lot of sunscreen.

Because it’s so tough to narrow it down, we’ve picked some front-runners that will be suitable for all your summer needs. See below for individual categories along with EWG’s ratings. 1 being in the “excellent” range, and 10 being in the “poor” range.

Water Friendly– when choosing a sunscreen that’s for the outdoors (beach, swimming pool, hiking), you’ll want to choose one that’s labeled “sport,” as most of them are meant to be water-resistant. And because you’ll be outside, you’ll most likely be getting wet and these sunscreens will do a better job at shielding you.
