Now that summer is in full swing, the idea of wearing a face mask outside let alone working out in is unappealing and understandably so, however, it has become a non-negotiable. With some gyms and fitness studios opening back up across the U.S it is critical to protect yourself and your community during this time if you choose to go. Not to mention, in most U.S. states, face masks are required every time you leave your house, not just when you can’t social distance. And as we’ve seen, wearing a face mask and social distancing dramatically slows the spread of COVID-19.

Since mask-wearing has become a part of our daily lives a myriad of different brands are stepping up to the plate to create their own stylish version. This includes huge activewear brands that have released masks that are specifically made for working out in. These masks are all breathable, soft, fit well, are washer/dryer safe, and typically give back to essential workers who need these items. It is crucial to state that all the masks below are non-medical grade and do not replace certified PPE products or N95 masks. Be sure to always wash your hands before and after putting on a mask, do not touch your face, and continue to social distance, even when wearing a mask. 1.Onzie Mindful Masks and Kids Masks
Both adult and kids masks are made in Los Angeles with upcycled material from their yoga wear fabrics. They used a “multi-layer fabric made of Full Flex Spandex technology for the exterior with a high-performance inner lining and elastic straps.” These masks can be used on their own or as a cover for an N95 and filtered mask.

3.Athleta Masks
Athleta has two sets of masks, one being their Everyday Non-Medical Masks and two, Made to Move Masks. The Everyday Non-Medical Masks come in a 5 pack and are three-layered made from polyester-spandex with a cotton liner making them soft and breathable. They also have a wire at the top of the nose and adjustable straps on the ears, making them fit that much better.

4.Koral Shiny Netz Face Mask
Koral uses the same antimicrobial performance fabric that they do for their athletic wear. Their masks are fast-drying, provide UV protection, and are breathable.

5.Carbon38 The Mask Kit
These masks are sold in a 2 pack with a small laundry bag for safe and easy machine washing. They used a multi-layered filtration system and fast-drying antimicrobial fabric to ensure you stay cool and comfortable during your next outing. Their masks have an adjustable nose piece and straps to ensure a secure fit.

6.Morgan Stewart Sport Masks
Morgan Stewart Sport has a few masks that are sweat-wicking, breathable, and soft. The material they use is a combination of nylon and anti-bacterial yarns. For every mask you purchase, they will be donating one mask to United Way Relief Fund.

7.Caraa Sport 5 Universal Masks
This 5 pack features non-medical grade masks that are breathable and an embedded nose wire and adjustable ear straps for a more secure fit. These masks do not come with filters but you can purchase them on their website. With every purchase you make, Caraa will match it with a donation to relief efforts.
